Xbox 360...which FPS is right for me? - [ videogames ]


For all you violent gamers out there who couldn't care less about the latest Tony Hawk Wastebasket filler, or this year's supra-realistic football game, you may be starting to develop a cyber-murdering deficiency because you don't know what shooter to buy. I know how it is. There are four 360 FPSs on shelves and you need to make a decision and tell mommy what you want Santa to bring you.


Perfect Dark Zero
This game ain't pretty. PDZ looks like it was given birth to by one of those PC first person shooter creator programs. Pay no attention to absurdly generous reviews like the one GameSpot gave it.
Buy? No!


Condemned: Criminal Origins
In the bloodcurdling Condemned, you can kill enemies with just about anything. Tear pipes out of walls, ram an axe into a spine, the possibilities are endless, and when you turn up the volume on your TV you can feel the impact from strikes delivered to the homelessesque enemies.
Buy? Yes, but only after playing CoD2 and Q4.


Call of Duty 2
On the first mission, when a tank rolls over a trench you are in, mere inches from the top of your skull, or when you witness the giant plumes of black smoke that become of German tanks you offed in the desert, you'll know why this must be the first game you purchase for Xbox 360.
Buy? Yes!


Quake 4
It's not as bad as people make it out to be. Sure it's basically a daytime Doom 3 rehash minus the occult elements, but who gives a damn? If you have enough money to buy both Call of Duty 2 and Quake 4, do it.
Buy? Yes!

I hated PDZ. I shell out 50 bucks for it as my only 360 game, and I get a pitiful game. I've played better FPS's on the gamecube. Gamespot must have been wooed by the fact its a Rare FPS.

COD2 and Condemned: Criminal Origins are two must have games I must get first when I get my 360. Quake 4 and PDZ are good games but I can wait to get those later. is PDZ really that bad?

yes it is-despite some good scores from gamespot(9.0)its just another mediocre first person shooter.get call of duty 2 instead-its more intense and satisfying

Condemned is as lame as PDZ...the story sucks, the puzzles are easy and the oppononents are plain stupid. It is also awfully short and in that very short stint of gameplay it manages to get repetative!?!? What a freakin bummer. This is an absolute NO GO for everyone who takes gaming more serious than Nintendogs
