Texas Chainsaw Massacre Prequel Blows - [ videogames ]

Last night I watched a sneak preview of Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning, and I've got to say that it was a monumental letdown. If you thought the remake with Jessica Biel sucked, don't even bother with this one. Even the gore scenes were somewhat uninspired.

The whole point of the movie was to "explore the origins" of Leatherface, or so the filmmakers of this reeking bucket of excrement claimed it would do, which could have been interesting, but the movie spends only the first 3 minutes on illuminating the early life of Leatherface. As for the remaining ninety minutes, he is the same as he is in all the other films, a chainsaw wielding adult. Being teased by his classmates is briefly mentioned by one of the characters in The Beginning, but we don't see any of it.

In short, TCM: The Beginning is pretty much identical to the remake that came out in 2003, except with weaker mutilation, no nudity, and lamer actors.

My sentiments exactly

Just avoid remakes and updates of old horror movies, it's not worth the disappointment.

The Hills Have Eyes remake was better than the original I thought...

But yeah, generally speaking, you're right. Horror remakes stink.

I always have terrible trouble with comment-related plugins that require me to put some line in the comment loop; I can never seem to find the right spot. Can anyone tell me where I should put the php line in my comments loop? I haven not modified anything much, and I would be very grateful. Thanks!
