!!! Female Action Hero Overload !!! - [ videogames ]

Before someone comments on this page that I am a chauvinist, I have nothing against female action heroes. I don't. This blog entry isn't about the eradication of them from the big screen. Although, I'm not going to sit back and pretend that things have not officially become unbalanced in the world of explosions and machine gunnery. The days of veiny-chested Rambos and Conan the Barbarian/Destroyer are over! Instead we have a full legion of Charlie's Angels rewrites that no one on Earth can keep track of. You need examples!? Aeon Flux, the Kill Bill movies, the Resident Evil movies, Ultraviolet, Charlie's Angels, V for Vendetta, the Tomb Raider movies, and so on. It'd be one thing if these movies were worth seeing--but 94% of them are pureed crap (I do want to see V for Vendetta though).

She's different because she has glasses.

I understand the appeal. The chicks are hot and they kick ass. But there are just too many of these damn things! We have The Rock and that's about it on the men's side and I'm not a hundred percent sure if that Vin Diesel is human, so he doesn't count.

Keep hope alive, we are just in a transition (I hope), there will be more Terminator's and Rambo's.

I'm not a fan of the red-leather heroines. Aeon has got it going on.

They should have made the Aeon Flux game cell shaded to look like the Liquid Television series. Plus, given her spider like movements and sexy tongue-action mini-games.

As a female, I'm not complaining....maybe we're tired of watching the boys do all the asskicking and save humankind. Besides, it's not like the male action characters were any deeper or were really all much more that distinguishable from each other.

PS. I liked Aeon the movie, but that wasn't Aeon the cartoon.

PSS. V for Vendetta isn't really about a FEMALE action figure. Oh, I'm sure the Warchowski's will try and screw that up, but the comic isn't about Evie so much as it's about V.

Zee, I think we're forgetting about the performance given by Jesse Ventura in Predator...if that's not deep, I know not what this word means.

"INFANT JESUS BUKKAKE " . . . .doode I wouldn't go that far.

I agree with the offender on this one. I love my female action heroines, but you have to write a good script.

BTW, My favorite female action heroine is Sailor Moon. hahaha

No way. Rainbow Bright.

You are going to get kicked in the balls for this, Offender indeed. Rainbow Bright has a tight, little turd-cutter.
